Summer Reading Program

On June 29 the Rye Public Library will kick off our 2010 Summer Reading Program with the incredible Toe Jam Puppet Band appearing at 6:00pm here at the library.

This year’s Summer Reading Program water theme will have something for everyone! Early readers will “Make a Splash With Reading”, young adults join us to “Make Waves At the Library”, and we invite adult readers to “Catch the Wave of Reading” with promotions and events all summer for all ages!

Please join us for a fun summer of reading and entertainment at Rye Public Library.
The first 100 adult readers registering for this summer’s program will receive a free Catch the Wave of Reading mouse pad designed by our very own Director, Andy Richmond, for participating. From then on, just read, read, read. Any books you'd like. Each brief book review slip you fill out will serve as an entry in our prize drawing at the end of the program in August. Prizes will include gift items or certificates generously donated by area businesses, and gift baskets assembled by our volunteers. You don't even have to be here to win--We'll call you!

Finally, using all those great reviews we've received, we'll put together a display of the top Summer Reader's Picks 2010.

We sincerely thank all of the participating local businesses for their generosity in supporting our program, some of whom include: Serendipity Market & Café, Summer House Furnishings, Portsmouth Kayak Adventures, Paul's Carriage House Restuarant, Christine's Crossing, and Tom's of Maine.

We’ll have great musical guests each month through August, and appearances by speakers and authors all summer long. Please continue to check the website for details on the speakers and musicians we’ve got scheduled as part of this exciting program, along with a complete list of contributing local businesses.
